IRL Friend

A friend of mine, Isa, who I have been friends with online was traveling down from San Francisco and staying at the Disneyland Hotel, The Grand Californian.     We planned on meeting today for the first time in person!

Isa and I were pregnant together with our multiples.   She has twin girls, Tamsin and Audrey and they just turned 4 and are a few months older than the triplets.  I also met her husband.

They had already spent the day doing rides at Disneyland so they wanted to have a nice dinner at Downtown Disney.  So, we met up with them at Downtown Disney.  We put in a reservation at The Rainforest Cafe, but it was 1 and 3/4 hour wait!   We went to their hotel and Isa changed her girls clothes.  We talked and walked through Downtown Disney for a while.  It was a bit chilly and her girls were getting very tired.  It was about 6:30pm.     She decided that they would just go up to their room and we would go ahead and go to Rainforest Cafe.

So, my friend Britney, and my 4 girls had dinner at Rainforest Cafe. The girls thought it was amazing.   They loved the animated animals, butterflies and the rainforest storm that encountered us every 1/2 hour.    After dinner they all wanted a toy and I took them down to the Rainforest Gift shop which is amazing!!  They all picked out Crocodiles.    I tell you, it is really like I have 4 boys than girls!!  LOL!

Having Fun at the Bowl

Today some long time friends of mine, Janet and Mike and their son, came over and we drove over to the Lakewood Park and Ride.  We climbed aboard our party bus, and headed out to the Hollywood Bowl.     We went to see Paul McCartney at the Hollywood Bowl!

Cliff stayed at home with the girls, he is not a huge concert fan.    Saved us a ton of money on babysitting costs.

Paul performed for 3 hours straight – nonstop!!    There were 3 encores, and he did 3 songs for each set of encores.  It was bloody amazing.     Hands down he is the best entertainer that I have seen in my life.     He is so talented and actually got the audience to perform for HIM.    Only a seasoned performer could get away with that!

He played a couple of songs that he said he had never played on American soil before.  Then he played a song that he had written for his friend John Lennon.  He also honored his other dear friend George Harrison.    It was truly endearing.

We had a blast and lost our voices.    Thank you Paul for giving us the time of our life!!

Can you hear me?

After school today I took Savannah today for her hearing test at the School District’s Auditory Hearing Center, Centrelia.  I brought all of the girls and their lunches too.    It has been a busy day running around today so we were eating lunch on the run!

We met with Mika, the nicest person who tested Savannah’s hearing.    Savannah tested in the sound booth and the results came out that Savannah’s hearing is perfect.

Mika has on idea why the school nurse’s hearing test came out that Savannah can’t hear at 3000-4000hz.    To make sure, Mika is going to have Savannah come in for annual hearing tests, and she also said why not bring the triplets in too since they were born preemie…wouldn’t hurt.   So that will be our annual thing to do.

Don’t Break them…Please!!

Maryssa’s eyeglasses lasted her all of about 5 days and then they broke.    She needs to wear the glasses the least of the 4 girls thank goodness.

Last weekend, Savannah and Miranda were playing around, and wouldn’t you know it, the girl who needs her glasses the most, Miranda-her glasses broke!!

I got these really cool eye glass straps that attach to the ear pieces behind the ear so the eye glasses can’t slip or fall off.    However, when the girls play rough, the straps don’t do a darn thing!

So on Saturday I took Maryssa and Miranda’s glasses back to the optometrist to get them fixed.   Ummm… guess what?  They told me they can’t fix the glasses!!  We have to order new frames for both of them.  Grrrr….    Apparently they broke at the part where they can’t fix them…  How dandy is that?    They said it can take up to a week to get them in.   Fun, fun, fun!!

What is that in your mouth?

This morning I was checking Savannah’s teeth after she brushed them to make sure she did a good job.  I noticed a white thing protruding behind her last visible molar on the lower right side.   I felt it and it felt like a tooth coming in.  I think her 6 year molars are coming in!!   Right on time, her 6th birthday was March 8th!!    She hasn’t complained about any teething pain at all.

Once again another reminder that my sweet Savannah is no longer my baby girl ((sigh))  She is my big girl now!!

Jog-A-Thon fundraiser

Savannah’s school is fundraising on a regular basis to cover art programs and field trips that have been cut out of the school’s budget due to the bad economy.    Our PTA comes up with the fundraisers and asks us parents to do our best to fund-raise for the school.

Today at 10:45am this morning was the Jog-A-Thon fundraiser.  We seek out sponsors for our students to raise money as they run the laps around the track.   Each grade jogs around a track for about 20 minutes.    They wear a necklace and they get a hole punched for every lap they make.    I volunteered by hole punching the kids necklaces.  It was a total surprise to Savannah at the track today!!    She was so proud and ran her sweet little heart out.  I cheered her on!!   She did 14 laps!!    Wow!!     Afterwards they got to sit down and enjoy a Popsicle.  It was a warm 85 degrees and breezy, a gorgeous day!!

Thank you Aunt Rosanne for donating money for this cause.   We truly appreciate it!!

Savannah’s 6th annual physical checkup

She is 41 lbs with clothes on and 42 inches tall.  She is 25% in height and 50% in weight.   The Dr. says perfect.  She said they are happy to see skinny kids than overweight kids.  Ummm ok….

The Dr. noticed Savannah’s ear is a little pink and prescribed antibiodics for possible ear infection brewing.

I told the dr. about the nurse’s findings about Savannah’s left ear. They did a hearing check and she passed.

I also told the dr. about Savannah getting glasses and I want a second opinion with the Pediatric Opthamologist, Dr. Fierson.  Savannah did her vision test with the dr. and her right eye didnt’ pass.  The dr. will refer Savannah to Dr. Fierson.

The dr. kept asking Savannah what her favorite vegetable was and Savannah said she liked bananas.   Then the dr. asked Savannah, what about leafy green vegetables?  Savannah looked at her like…what are talking about?  LOL!!  I mentioned Savannah likes salad and Savannah said, oh yes I love salad.

Best news of all at the appointment-NOT VACCINATION SHOTS!! woo hoo!
