There is a library right next to the YMCA. The Whittier Libarary. So I took the girls for their very first time to visit a public library. I had to go over with them about being very quiet and using their “inside” voices.
They were amazed at all of the books in the kids section! We went to the Easy reading area for Savannah. She chose a really cute book about animals and I will have her read it to me. She is becoming quite the little reader.
They also rent out DVD movies for $1. We picked out Bambi II and we are going to watch it tonight. Miranda didn’t want to let go of the DVD and she said it was hers. She fell in love with the movie.
We will go to the library every Tuesday and Thursday to check out books and once a week we will check out a DVD. I am going t look into the summer reading program for Savannah.

I arranged to have the kiddos and moms of the La Habra Moms club to enjoy a tour of the restaurant, kitchen and make their own tacos.
The manager John, was very accomodating!! He explained the history of the restaurant. It was originally a house and part of the restaurant was actually party of the house and he pointed certain characteristics to prove it. I was so impressed when we toured their kitchen!! Hands down, their kitchen is the CLEANEST kitchen I have ever seen at any restaurant, and I will tell you, this past year we have done at least 6 restaurant tours of their kitchens. You could eat off of their kitchen floor!!
The kids made their tacos in the kitchen and then we were all guided to our party room on the patio. It looked so festive!! Their were balloons tied with cute yellow duckies all over the place!! The kids were give cute sippy cups with their choice of beverage. The moms ordered off of the menu. I had a coupon which was great!!
The kids got ice cream for dessert. The final suprise was each kid got to pick out a prize from the restaurant’s special toy chest!!
We all had a wonderful time.

I can clearly remember 6 years ago today, giving birth to my miracle baby – my first born daughter. I remember her little cry, and I cried along with her. I was in awe when I first saw her.
I can’t believe 6 whole years have gone by!! Savannah keeps getting more beautiful and more smart every day. She continues to amaze me as she learns to read, be more involved in the world around her, and develop in to a wonderful little girl.
Happy Birthday to my darling first born daughter Savannah. I love you so much!! xoxoxoxo

Savannah has needed a new bed for a while now. I have been selling my old baby stuff and saving money to get her a new bed for her birthday. I went on Craigslist.com and found a really great full sized captain’s bed with roll out twin sized trundle underneath and 3 drawers under the trundle too!! The company I bought it from is called Livin’ Large.
I ordered it on Tuesday and it arrived today and was put together. I also got a beautiful new couch set. We have been needing a new couch set for a few years now. The other one was in such bad shape. I got a really good deal and LOVE our new leather reclining sofa, love seat and recliner. It is so comfortable and it looks so nice.

How in the world did that happen? They have to wear them all fo the time!, except when they are playing outdoors. A few weeks ago I took the triplets to their annual eye exam at Dr. Fierson’s, a pediatric opthamologist.
Miranda has been crossing her left eye inwards. He said she has a lazy eye and it causes the cross eyed because it is weak. He prescribed eyeglasses for her. She is also farsighted more than little kids are at this age. Miranda’s left lens of her glasses will be specially made to help straighten her eye out. If it doesn’t then we begin to patch the strong eye to make the weak eye work hearder. Worse case if that doesn’t fix it, she will need surgery on the eye muscle. I am hoping to avoid that at all costs.
Amanda also has a lazy eye that I was never able to detect!! He said she is also farsighted more than little kids are at this age. He prescribed eyeglasses for her.
Maryssa’s eyes are the least problematic but her farsightedness has worsened since a year ago. He prescribed eyeglasses for her.
I took Savannah to her eye appointment last week. The optometrist said Savannah needs glasses too!! She is farsighted. She needs to wear her glasses all of the time. So that day I ordered all 4 girls glasses. That was some endeavor I tell you!!
Today I picked up all of their glasses. I immediately put their initials inside the glasses so I know whose is whose. They all wanted to wear the same pretty frames and to be honest, I don’t blame them, they are really nice frames.
It is quite an adjust for them, and even more for me to remember to make sure that they wear them consistently. I have forgotten a few days to put glasses on them. I have to make it a habit.
Daddy’s Cliff’s glasses look very similar to the girls’ glasses and my glasses are sort of similar so it looks like a riot to see all 6 of us wearing the same glasses!!

This morning I took the triplets for their dentist check up. This was their 2nd check up so far. Today was their first time getting their teeth scaled and then fluoride.
They all did great!! Amanda and Maryssa chose bubble gum flavor flouride and Miranda chose grape flavor. No cavities…music to my ears.
I have to keep working on flossing their teeth, but it is so hard to do it for 4 girls. I keep doing my best though. They brush twice a day and use a fluoride oral rinse before bed.

I got a call a couple of weeks ago from the school Nurse who did Savannah’s annual physical, hearing and vision test. She said that Savannah’s left ear doesn’t detect hearing pitch of 3000-4000 hz. She said she noticed this last year when Savannah was in preschool. The nurse never mentioned this to me last year!
I mentioned Savannah was sick and could the nurse do a receck in a couple of weeks – which was today. Still the same hearing loss in that ear. She doesn’t have an otoscope to check if she has fluid in her ears.
I told the school nurse that Savannah had seen an audiologist at Providence Hearing Center at Children’s Hospital in Orange a couple of years ago to rule out hearing loss due to her speech issues. Savannah was undergoing tests and evaluations for speech therapy. Anyway, they detected fluid in her ear and told us to come back in a month. Savannah had been sick so it didn’t surprise me that she had fluid in her ear. We came back in a month, they tested her and said her hearing was fine.
So the nurse has referred Savannah to the school district’s audiologist to check her hearing. The nurse did mention that a hearing loss at 3000-4000 is really not a big deal and doesn’t affect the “speech banana” that could affect her speech to due a hearing loss. She said if Savannah turns out to have a hearing loss at that level, that they really is nothing to do because it is so extremely minuscule that it is virtually not a problem for Savannah.
So I will get an appt. set up for Savannah’s hearing test with Centrelia, the school district’s audiologist.
