Yesterday I used some 50% off coupons at Michaels and bought some melting chocolate and scored a 100 piece cookie cutter set for 1./2 off with the coupon making it $5. I needed a flamingo cookie cutter and there was one it this set! I am making flamingo cookies and decorating them to put in goodie bags for the members.
So I came home and began making sugar cookie dough. Then I baked a huge chocolate chip cookie and decorated it as a prize for one of the members to win. I placed it on a beautiful serving dish that the member got to keep as well.
Then I drizzled melting chocolate on strawberries. I baked the flamingo cookies and decorated them. Then I put all of the goodie bags together. I had a great Sangria I was bringing along with fun keepsake margarita glasses with flamingo stir sticks. I got so much done. and left the house at 7pm.
I got to the Spaghetti Factory and starting setting up. I put strawberries witht he flamingo picks and place them in the margarita glasses. I had gotten cute flamingo table decorations. Can you tell the theme of the party was flamingos and end of summer bash?
Every member on the executive board was invited as a thank you for serving on the board of the moms club. I wanted to make them feel special and I spoiled them! They all ordered their meals and we started off with fresh yummy bread and then our salads followed by our pasta dish. Then I handed out a gift to each mom. They each received different gift certificates to restaurants. They were all thrilled. They really enjoyed the Sangria. It was so much fun!
I left my house in a disarry and chaos. I got home at 10:30pm and cleaned the house till midnight. I was exhausted!

Today is Savannah’s back to school night. The classroom theme is dogs and it was filled with all of the cute art projects that the kids did. I went around and looked at all of Savannah’s artwork and projects that she had done. I saw her desk and wrote her a little love note and slipped it in her pencil box and then placed it in her desk. Hopefully that will surprise her tomorrow morning.
So the teacher went over the class curriculum. Afterwards, she met with parents and discussed any of their concerns. I spoke to her and she was quite negative about Savannah’s attention in class. I didn’t hear one positive thing that she told any of the teachers. I think positive reinforcement is not just important for the child, but for the parents as well. We all want our kids to do well in school.

Shelly Marker said she did great!! She is following directions and instructions which is a sign that her receptive language is really improving. Along with her maturing behavior as well, I believe.
Corrie’s son, Jeremy, is in the same speech class as Maryssa. It gives Corrie and I chance to talk while they are in speech.

The preschool likes to celebrate the summer birthdays in September so the kids can experience a birthday party even though their real birthday is in the summer. I think that is the BEST idea.
So last night I baked and decorated cupcakes and also made a big birthday cake for the triplets to blow out the candle.
They wore cute birthday crowns and everyone sang happy birthday to them. All of their little preschool friends got a neat goodie bag of Littlest Pet shop coloring book and a folder to decorate with Littlest Pet shop stickers.

I bought a couple of pretty crystal serving dishes for Jen’s bridal shower present. I also got her a pretty and sophisticated long negligee too.
I made some hummus and cut up some pita and put that on the crystal serving dishes. I also made a nice package of the ingredients along with a recipe so that she can make her own hummus.
It was a fun bridal shower and I stayed for ours! Her sister Lauren is so funny and keeps me in stitches!

Today I took the triplets in for their dental cleaning and check up. I am happy to report they were all little angels with the hygienist. They all chose bubble gum flavored fluoride. The best news is that none of them are showing any signs of cavities…yay!

All summer I have been preparing for this day – in my mind. How in the world am I going to get 4 girls dressed, fed, hair done, lunches made and ready to get out of the door by 8:00am today?
Well easy…I will get up at 6am! So last night I put the girls to bed at 8pm. They kept waking up so I knew it was going to be hard to wake them up. I started waking them up at 6:45am. By 7am I had all of them up and helping them get dressed and ready.
Driving to Savannah’s school is always HELLish the first day. So I parked down the street and walked her to class. Her new teacher is Mrs. Stephenson. She has a reputation for not being the nicest teacher and she is very strict. Hopefully it will go ok for Savannah this year.
I then came home and the triplets were home with daddy. I spent some time with them and then at 9am I took them to school. Well, little did I know that they were supposed to start at 10am and go for just one hour today! Ooops. So we hung out at their old preschool teacher, Mrs. Drilling for an hour. It was really nice. At 10am we went to Mrs. Rolbecki’s class. What a wonderful teacher she is. So nice, patient, kind, understanding and loving.
I picked them up an hour later and they were so happy. Then at 3pm I picked up Savannah. Ugh… I saw the teacher scolding her and telling her she needs to listen and follow directions. The teacher scolded Savannah in front of all the kids in front of the school. I quickly got out of my car and went to Savannah. The teacher then proceeded to tell me how terrible Savannah was at following directions..again embarrassing us in front of all of the other kids and parent. I thought it was a very inappropriate time for her to be discussing that with me.
Savannah then cried all the way home and then for an hour at home. I was PISSED. I called the school and requested an immediate parent/teacher/principal conference that day. I got a call in about an hour. We had the conference and I told the teacher my concerns about how she handled the situation appropriately. Hopefully we will get on a better footing after this…ugh!!
