First Day of school for ALL of my girls!
All summer I have been preparing for this day – in my mind. How in the world am I going to get 4 girls dressed, fed, hair done, lunches made and ready to get out of the door by 8:00am today?
Well easy…I will get up at 6am! So last night I put the girls to bed at 8pm. They kept waking up so I knew it was going to be hard to wake them up. I started waking them up at 6:45am. By 7am I had all of them up and helping them get dressed and ready.
Driving to Savannah’s school is always HELLish the first day. So I parked down the street and walked her to class. Her new teacher is Mrs. Stephenson. She has a reputation for not being the nicest teacher and she is very strict. Hopefully it will go ok for Savannah this year.
I then came home and the triplets were home with daddy. I spent some time with them and then at 9am I took them to school. Well, little did I know that they were supposed to start at 10am and go for just one hour today! Ooops. So we hung out at their old preschool teacher, Mrs. Drilling for an hour. It was really nice. At 10am we went to Mrs. Rolbecki’s class. What a wonderful teacher she is. So nice, patient, kind, understanding and loving.
I picked them up an hour later and they were so happy. Then at 3pm I picked up Savannah. Ugh… I saw the teacher scolding her and telling her she needs to listen and follow directions. The teacher scolded Savannah in front of all the kids in front of the school. I quickly got out of my car and went to Savannah. The teacher then proceeded to tell me how terrible Savannah was at following directions..again embarrassing us in front of all of the other kids and parent. I thought it was a very inappropriate time for her to be discussing that with me.
Savannah then cried all the way home and then for an hour at home. I was PISSED. I called the school and requested an immediate parent/teacher/principal conference that day. I got a call in about an hour. We had the conference and I told the teacher my concerns about how she handled the situation appropriately. Hopefully we will get on a better footing after this…ugh!!
