Brea Mall – A Proud moment for Miranda
On Monday I took the girls to the Brea mall to have some Spring portraits done, meet the Easter Bunny and get a portrait with him, and to go to Godiva chocolate and cash in my 2 coupons and give the girls a yummy chocolate treat.
The girls didn’t do so good taking the pictures at JCPenney Portait Studio. Miranda was really uncooperative and said, “Mommy, I need to go potty!”. I told her “Honey, it’s ok to pee pee in your diaper”. Miranda bellowed, “No Mommy I no pee in my diaper, I pee pee on the potty!” She stood her ground and I had to follow through with the potty training gig. I told the photographer I had to take Miranda to the bathroom. Turns out the bathroom is one floor down – meaning packing up all of the girls and taking the elevator downstairs and waking across the department store to the bathroom.
So, I did just that!! Miranda was so scared to see the huge, big potty. This was her very first time going into a public bathroom and sitting on a big toilet. Why do they have that HUGE, open split in the front of the toilet seat? It must look like a huge abyss to a little toddler!!
Miranda screamed and cried. She was petrified. I talked her through it. She peed in the toilet and very quickly got off the toilet. I am happy to announce her diaper was dry!! She got to wash her hands in the sink and that was a huge thing for her too, a first time to do that too!!
We then proceeded to visit the Easter Bunny and got pictures with him. Then we celebrated at Godiva chocolate and the girls had a great time.
So this was a huge milestone for Miranda. My baby girl pee pee’d in a public toilet for the frist time today!! Way to go Miranda!!!
By the way, we re-took the girls Spring – Easter – Savannah’s 5th birthday pictures yesterday, Tuesday, at Whitwood Mall JCPenney’s Portrait Studio. This time the girls were really cooperative. I made sure to tell Miranda to get all of her pee pee out before we left for the photographer. With a little help (or should I say bribe!) from some bunny-shaped marshmellows, the girls took some awesome pictures!!!
