Newport Dunes at Newport Beach
Yesterday we spent the day at Newport Dunes in Newport Beach. It was amazing the difference in the weather…in La Habra it was 98 degrees and at Newport it was 75-80 degrees. We spent about 4 hours there. Took us about 40 minutes to get there, not a bad drive at all.
I was a little disappointed because their website mentioned they had daily crafts for kids. When we got there, they had no crafts going on that day and they said that they run most of their crafts on the weekends. Wish they had mentioned that on their website.
Anyway, the beach had tons of seashells and wasn’t the softest sand. The sand was really hot and we had to wear our flip flops.
The water was very calm and in a protected bay which was nice. Miranda went too deep in the water at one point and fell with the water over her head. I had to save her. It scared her poor baby girl. Scare me probably more…LOL!! Savannah did a great job practicing kicking her legs and swimming along the seashore. Mindy gave the triplets their first little swim lesson. Maryssa liked it the most.
There was also RV parking for campers. They had a pool and spa also. The parking was $12 for 4 hours – too much money in my opinion. It was ok for a beach, but to be honest, I prefer going to Manhattan Beach or Huntington Beach.
I added even more lobster redness to my poor face and shoulders. Last night I went out and got some Aloe Vera Gel with Lidocaine in it. That did the trick and my sunburn is just about turned into a tan now..totally amazing!!
