Savannah’s class will be doing a field trip next Friday at Centennial Farms in Irvine. They want 2 parents to volunteer. Usually many parents like to do this field trip so they do a drawing with all of the parents names (who have been livescanend) who want to go on the field trip.
So, today I got livescanned so my name could be put in the drawing. I had to pick up paperwork from the school and take it down to this place where they do the livescan. The state charges a fee of $30 and the livescan place charges $20..so it is pricey. Luckily, I found out the school district picks up the tab for the livescan fee…woohoo!! I had to fill out an application and get all sorts of finger and hand prints done today.
I was told that I only need to do the livescan once and it will be good for all fo the girls at school should I want to do any fieldtrips or anything that requires a safety clearance by the school.

After I dropped the triplets off to preschool, I took Savannah to school and then surprised her by volunteering in her class today!! She was blown away.
Today I sat with her group of “yellow apples” There are groups of 6 kids that are different colored apples..red apples, yellow apples, blue apples, etc.
The teacher asked me to help the kids with an art project that required tracing, cutting, and gulp….PAINTING. I have to tell you, I am horrible with paint. I get it everywhere else except where the paint was supposed to go.
The paint colors were brown and red. It was a very messy job. The kids dipped sponges in the paint to paint their art projects. The art projects came out really cute..they were hens with little skirts and hats.
I was so proud to volunteer today. It was so much fun seeing Savannah at recess and watching her interact with her classmates and friends.

I can’t believe the homework Savannah has been bringing home this week! I thought it was totally amazing that they were learning to do addition in mathematics in Kindy.
Well, guess what…they are now subtracting!! Yep, Savannah is doing subtraction. She totally understands it. I use the term “take away”. How I do it is 5-2=3…take a group of 5 cheerios and take away 2 cheerios, how many are left? She quickly got the concept down. She is now using her fingers.
She can add numbers in her head and she is beginning to memorize easy addition like 1+1=2, 2+2=4, etc. She is such a smart cookie!!

Today the triplets had their first Easter party at Preschool. I made cute butterfly snacks that were little goodie bags filled with Fruit Loops with a clothes clip in the middle to make the butterfly. I also made cute boo boo bunnies made out of white wash cloths. I boiled a dozen eggs because they were going to decorate and dye eggs today!
Mrs. Darling had made everyone the most precious Easter baskets. The kids got a glimpse of Easter bunny tracks that were on the playground! They thought that was so cool!
I went to Savannah’s class and brought all of her classroom boo boo bunnies. The kids were thrilled. I spent some time with Savannah in her classroom today and she enjoyed having me there so much. I really enjoyed myself too. I helped her decorate her Easter Bunny art project.

Savannah’s school is fundraising on a regular basis to cover art programs and field trips that have been cut out of the school’s budget due to the bad economy. Our PTA comes up with the fundraisers and asks us parents to do our best to fund-raise for the school.
Today at 10:45am this morning was the Jog-A-Thon fundraiser. We seek out sponsors for our students to raise money as they run the laps around the track. Each grade jogs around a track for about 20 minutes. They wear a necklace and they get a hole punched for every lap they make. I volunteered by hole punching the kids necklaces. It was a total surprise to Savannah at the track today!! She was so proud and ran her sweet little heart out. I cheered her on!! She did 14 laps!! Wow!! Afterwards they got to sit down and enjoy a Popsicle. It was a warm 85 degrees and breezy, a gorgeous day!!
Thank you Aunt Rosanne for donating money for this cause. We truly appreciate it!!

Savannah’s school was selling cute Pinwheel Valentine’s that were available for purchase all of this week. I ordered 5 of them, one for Savannah, 4 for her best friends in Kindy and one for her teacher. The Pinwheel Valentine’s would be delivered to Savannah, her friends and her teacher today.
Savannah had a Valentine’s Exchange in her classroom today. She brought Littlest Pet Shop Valentines, goody bags filled with candy and a huge heart shaped crazy straw. She brought Sally Field chocolate chip cookie tin for her teacher along with a heart shaped wind chime.
She recieved lots of fun Valentines stuff. She received a Valentine’s Pinwheel from a boy named Austin in her class!! Oh boy!!

Today the girls got to put on floating device that strap around their waist. Then they were given long floating noodles and the teacher, Miss Gail, put the noodle under their arms and taught them how to float.
I tell you, at first I thought I was going to have a heart attack. All of my precious cargo was out their in that swimming pool and the thought of losing anyone one of them to drowning just freaked me out.
Thankfully all of the girls did great. Savannah loved using the noodle the most. She asked me to get her one for this summer.
