Pretty followed by ugly

This morning the girls and I began cleaning out the front yard garden.   I am ashamed to say that I had fake flowers in our garden.    Even worse, they were faded and really ugly.    It took over an hour to clean up the garden.

This was the girls first time gardening and planting flowers in our front yard.  I showed them how to dig a hole in the ground, then place the flower in the hold, then cover the hold with dirt.   We planted about 12 flowers.  It looks so pretty!!

Then a few hours later, my right abdomen and right rear back was hurting,,,really bad.   It became waves of unbearable pain…worse than child labor pains.    I threw up, the pain was so bad.  I worked through it for about 5 hours and then it subsided.   Ugh…this was a horrible kidney stone causing me ugly pain…

Birthdays and flowers

This afternoon I took Savannah to her friend, Brooklyn’s 6th birthday.  It was a really fun carnival theme.

Then, Savannah and I met Cliff and the triplets at Home Depot. The girls picked out flowers to plant in our front yard garden for tomorrow which is my Mother’s Day present.   Savannah picked out some pretty pink trumpet flowers.   Amanda picked out pretty little red flowers, Maryssa picked out pretty white lace flowers, and Miranda picket out pretty little pink flowers.

I drove the triplets home and Cliff took Savvy on an errand.

After we got home, Cliff and Savvy showed up a while later with a HUGE flower arrangement and a really nice Mother’s Day card.  What a nice suprise!!

I got LiveScanned!!

Savannah’s class will be doing a field trip next Friday at Centennial Farms in Irvine.   They want 2 parents to volunteer.    Usually many parents like to do this field trip so they do a drawing with all of the parents names (who have been livescanend) who want to go on the field trip.

So, today I got livescanned so my name could be put in the drawing.   I had to pick up paperwork from the school and take it down to this place where they do the livescan.   The state charges a fee of $30 and the livescan place charges $20..so it is pricey.  Luckily, I found out the school district picks up the tab for the livescan fee…woohoo!!   I had to fill out an application and get all sorts of finger and hand prints done today.

I was told that I only need to do the livescan once and it will be good for all fo the girls at school should I want to do any fieldtrips or anything that requires a safety clearance by the school.

Look into the light…

Today was Miranda’s follow up appointment with the Pediatric Opthamologist, Dr. Fierson.   I picked up Savannah from school at 1:30 and all of us zoomed up to Arcadia in about 45 minutes.

I packed snacks because I anticipated our wait would be a while.    There was an insurance glitch so I had to pay a highter co-pay…not happy about that!!    Our little wait turned into a long wait and the girls were being super stinkers.     Finally after almost 2 hour they called us in.  There were other people that had been waiting there for over 4 hours. It sucks…

Miranda did her eye test and then Dr. Fierson said her eyesight is improving with the 2 hour eyepatching and the eyeglasses.  We need to continue that every day.  He expressed the importance of her wearing her glasses and that the more she wore them the more her eyes would cross less and her eyesight would improve.    He said  she may wear glasses for years.  Bummer!!     He wants another follow up in 3 months.  I need to take Amanda in a few months for a follow up so they will both get their follow ups on the same day, at the end of July.

They ate Mickey Mouse today!

Today was our turn to bring snacks into the preschool class.  I have 3 snack days in a row for the triplets.    Also with the snack day, the child gets to bring in a share toy and be line leader.  Today was Miranda’s share day.  She brought in Minnie Mouse of course.

This morning I woke up at 6am to make the Mickey Mouse pancakes which would be for the snack today.    I made a dozen of them.  I also brought in whipping cream, raisins, and maple syrup so the kids could decorate their Mickey Mouse pancakes.  They had a blast!!

I love being creative for the kids’ snacks.

Kindy Klass

After I dropped the triplets off to preschool, I took Savannah to school and then surprised her by volunteering in her class today!!    She was blown away.

Today I sat with her group of “yellow apples” There are groups of 6 kids that are different colored apples..red apples, yellow apples, blue apples, etc.

The teacher asked me to help the kids with an art project that required tracing, cutting, and gulp….PAINTING.   I have to tell you, I am horrible with paint.   I get it everywhere else except where the paint was supposed to go.

The paint colors were brown and red.    It was a very messy job.    The kids dipped sponges in the paint to paint their art projects.    The art projects came out really cute..they were hens with little skirts and hats.

I was so proud to volunteer today. It was so much fun seeing Savannah at recess and watching her interact with her classmates and friends.

Taking away…

I can’t believe the homework Savannah has been bringing home this week!    I thought it was totally amazing that they were learning to do addition in mathematics in Kindy.

Well, guess what…they are now subtracting!!  Yep, Savannah is doing subtraction.     She totally understands it.    I use the term “take away”.   How I do it is 5-2=3…take a group of 5 cheerios and take away 2 cheerios, how many are left?  She quickly got the concept down.   She is now using her fingers.

She can add numbers in her head and she is beginning to memorize easy addition like 1+1=2, 2+2=4, etc.    She is such a smart cookie!!
