Kindy Klass

After I dropped the triplets off to preschool, I took Savannah to school and then surprised her by volunteering in her class today!!    She was blown away.

Today I sat with her group of “yellow apples” There are groups of 6 kids that are different colored apples..red apples, yellow apples, blue apples, etc.

The teacher asked me to help the kids with an art project that required tracing, cutting, and gulp….PAINTING.   I have to tell you, I am horrible with paint.   I get it everywhere else except where the paint was supposed to go.

The paint colors were brown and red.    It was a very messy job.    The kids dipped sponges in the paint to paint their art projects.    The art projects came out really cute..they were hens with little skirts and hats.

I was so proud to volunteer today. It was so much fun seeing Savannah at recess and watching her interact with her classmates and friends.

Taking away…

I can’t believe the homework Savannah has been bringing home this week!    I thought it was totally amazing that they were learning to do addition in mathematics in Kindy.

Well, guess what…they are now subtracting!!  Yep, Savannah is doing subtraction.     She totally understands it.    I use the term “take away”.   How I do it is 5-2=3…take a group of 5 cheerios and take away 2 cheerios, how many are left?  She quickly got the concept down.   She is now using her fingers.

She can add numbers in her head and she is beginning to memorize easy addition like 1+1=2, 2+2=4, etc.    She is such a smart cookie!!

Drink it Savannah!!

This morning at 10am was Savannah’s dentist appt. at Uncle Ned’s in Manhattan Beach. It takes us about an hour to get there.

Savannah will be sedated so I was advised not to let her eat or drink before the procedure so there will be no complications with the sedation.

I brought some apple juice that she could swig down as she was drinking the sedation.  She was being stubborn and wouldn’t drink the sedation medication.    Savannah hates to take medicine and it is always a fight with her.   Finally I got her to take it.

About 15 minutes later, Savannah was getting goofy.  It was hilarious!!    She was like a little drunken 6  year old.  She was giggly and everything was funny to her.     She was ready to get her cavities taken care of.  I carried her to the dentist chair and stayed with her a few minutes until Uncle Ned came in with the shot…then I skiddaddled!!

There was no screaming and she was in there for about an hour.  Uncle Ned came out and told me she did great.   Sedation is the way to go for Savannah.  Well, actually, I hope we don’t need to do sedation again because I don’t want her to have anymore cavities.

I had to carry her to the car, the walk was about 2 blocks….whew!!  The nurse came with me to help me with the triplets.   I stopped off at a convenience store and got all of them lollipops.  Savannah didn’t quite know how to lick her lollipop…LOL!!

Wow, all of the lights!!

Today our neighbors, Amy and Rob, came over for dinner.    I told them that today was the last day the Electric Parade would be at Disneyland.    We decided that we would go see it tonight.

So, we left 3 hours early to make sure we got a good place to watch the parade.   Could you believe there was no room to sit!!  We lucked out and found a handicap area, since Amanda has club radian hand and she loses balance, she qualifies to be in the handicap area.   We got an upfront and great spot.  We had to wait over 2 hours for the parade.   I brought lots of dessert snacks and drinks for the girls.    Finally about 30 minutes before the parade which happens to be their bedtime, at 8:30pm they all crashed out.  I had brought their warm jackets and thick, warm blankets.  They were all bundled up with full bellies and crashed out.

They woke up right before the parade and loved watching it.  I am so glad Amy came with us.  We had such a wonderful time.

23rd April 2010

It’s been a while Mickey!!

This weekend is the last weekend for the Electric Parade at Disneyland.  It will be moving to Disneyworld in Florida.

With this in mind, we decided to go to Disneyland today.  Our friend Britney went with us.  We had a total blast. We went on every ride in Fantasy Land.    The girls had a blast driving cars and a nice cast member gave us fast passes to go on a couple of rides without waiting in line.

So, Britney took the triplets to the Rocket Ship ride and I took Savannah on Star Tours and then we went on Space Mountain.  Space Mountain was the biggest ride Savannah has ever been on and this was a huge and big deal!    She was scared and loved it all at the same time.  When we coasted in after the ride, she asked, mommy, can we go again!!    It was so much fun!!

At about 8pm, we ventured over to California to watch the Electric Parade.    It was really crowded and we couldn’t find a spot to park and view.   The girls were crashing out and exhausted.   So we grabbed a quick dinner and then went home.   Hopefully we can see it this weekend before it ends.

It’s a retake!!

This afternoon at 3pm we went to Sanford Studios to do a retake for a group picture.   Miranda kept crossing her eyes during the photo session at the preschool so they let us do a retake in their studio today.

Well, Maryssa was very uncooperative and we couldn’t get one good shot in!  I was so frustrated.    Lots of work getting them ready and nothing to show for it….Ugh….
